These guidelines set out the standards of conduct required of all Members of Actaa Network and form part of the Actaa Network Terms.
These guidelines apply to all users of Actaa Network, whether individuals or companies (each, a “Member”). They operate alongside the Network Terms and form part of them; where a precise definition is required, the Terms govern. Each Member is required to act with authenticity, respect, and honesty. The purpose of the Network is to provide trust that can be verified, and each standard set out below exists to protect it. A failure to observe these guidelines may result in the removal of content, a warning, or the loss of access.
01 Authenticity and Accurate Representation
Each Member shall use its real identity, present genuine work, and submit honest reviews. A profile, a showcase, and a review are meaningful only where they are accurate. The following are prohibited:
- fake accounts, impersonation, or invented personas;
- fabricated experience, roles, titles, or credentials; and
- verification signals that do not reflect a matter that is genuinely true.
02 Respectful Conduct
Each Member shall treat others as it would expect to be treated in a professional setting. Disagreement is permitted; personal attacks are not. The following are prohibited:
- harassment, bullying, or threats;
- discrimination against, or hateful content directed at, persons on the basis of who they are; and
- criticism directed at a person rather than at the work or the experience.
03 Integrity of Reviews
Reviews are of value only where they are honest. Each review shall be based upon genuine first-hand experience, being a company at which the Member has actually worked, or a person with whom the Member has actually worked. The following are prohibited:
- fake reviews of companies or persons with which the Member has no genuine experience;
- purchased or incentivized reviews, including any review written, amended, or withdrawn in exchange for money, discounts, or rewards;
- retaliatory reviews submitted to punish or coerce rather than to describe an honest experience; and
- reviews of your own company or yourself, and any review affected by a conflict of interest that is not disclosed.
Reviews should be specific and fair. First-hand detail assists other Members; unfounded or sweeping claims do not.
04 Honest Representation of Work
No Member shall misrepresent its work, role, or results. Each Member shall present the work that it actually performed. In particular:
- where work was performed by a team, the Member shall be clear as to its own contribution;
- outcomes shall not be inflated, and results that did not occur shall not be claimed; and
- concepts, studies, and works in progress shall be identified as such.
05 Intellectual Property
Each Member shall showcase only work that it is entitled to share, and shall not present the work of others as its own. In particular:
- permission shall be obtained before publishing work owned by a client or employer;
- collaborators and sources shall be credited where due; and
- the Document IP Ledger records provenance, being a tamper-evident record of when a document existed, which assists in establishing genuine authorship. Valid takedown and intellectual-property requests shall be respected.
06 Privacy and Confidentiality
Each Member shall protect the privacy of others. In particular:
- the private or personal information of others — including contact details, identity documents, and confidential materials — shall not be posted without consent;
- confidential employer or client information shall not be disclosed; and
- where a posting involves other persons, the Member shall ensure that it is permitted to publish it.
07 Spam, Scraping, and Automated Abuse
The Network is intended for genuine professional activity. The following are prohibited:
- spam, mass unsolicited messaging, and false or misleading job listings;
- scraping or harvesting of profiles, reviews, or other data; and
- the use of automated tools to manipulate the Network, including its rankings, reviews, or applications.
08 Enforcement and Reporting
Actaa moderates the Network in order to maintain its integrity. Where these guidelines are violated, Actaa's response will be proportionate to the seriousness of the matter and, where reasonable, a Member will be given an opportunity to remedy it. Actaa's measures include:
- the addition of context, or the issuing of a warning, for minor or first-time matters;
- the removal or restriction of content that violates these guidelines, such as a fake or retaliatory review; and
- the limitation of features, or the suspension or termination of accounts, for serious or repeated violations.
